Imperial College London is going high tech with a new full service hospital for their med students…on Second Life. Examine patients, order medical tests, call for a consult, and make a diagnosis, all from the comfort of your computer (but don’t try this at home–3rd year Imperial College medical students only). Although medical simulation health games have always been a big part of medical training, this particular pilot program hopes to prove that game-based learning can be a stimulating change from lectures and textbooks.
