Serious Games get $64B from Korean Government

Korea puts serious money in serious games.

I came across a very small article in the Korean IT Times that stated the Korean government plans to invest 80 Billion won (that’s approximately $64 billion) on serious games development and dissemination.  Their goal is to grow the serious games market to 500 billion won by 2012.  This includes investing in:

  • educational games
  • military simulation games
  • medical health games

I wonder which of the three will get the most funds.  It will be interesting to see what health games come out of Korea in the next few years!
