Starting next week, Serious Games Jam will be holding its second “jam session” online where some of the most innovative minds from across the globe will join in to discuss Serious Games. The session runs for five straight days, June 1 to June 5, and is for companies, individuals, researchers, and developers interested in the Serious Games field. At the end of the session, information is gathered, analyzed, and sent out to participants to ponder.
Registration is easy and free; it took me about five minutes. Just click on the registration page, fill out a few fields, and you’re done! Join the jam so we can get people talking about Serious Games for Health! Oh, and by the way, join the jam and you could WIN a Nintendo DS!!
To learn more about how the Serious Games Jam works, visit their about page where they explain the concept behind jamming. Here’s an excerpt from the site on what to expect:
The Serious Games Online Jam will provide an online collaborative space for those interested in Serious Games to discuss, debate and vote on different topics of Serious Games. Participants will have the opportunity to post discussions, contribute to discussions, learn about the current movements and growth areas, and make connections with other participants.
After the Jam session closes, all participants will receive a summarized analysis of the discussions and will be notified of other Jam sessions throughout 2009 as this will not be a one off. The Serious Game online Jam will run every quarter and the site will remain active in between times, giving participants the opportunity to make connections and provide some insight into the direction of the Jam sessions.

Thank you Melanie
It should have taken less to register though…:)) At least that’s what I hope…I always try to make registering as painless as possible
I hope that more people join
@Lucian – Five minutes with adding my picture and the like. I should have said less than five. It was very easy to register, just to clarify. The debates have been very fun to watch, and there’s something for everyone from the very basic “What are serious games?” to the great question of how to balance entertainment with education. Good show!
